The pedagogy at Alard Public School not only focuses on traditional curriculum-based teaching, but also puts emphasis on co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. The Principal, teachers and academic team at Alard Public School strongly believe that in this era of evolving career options, the students need to be equipped with not just traditional education, but also with skills that would help them stand out in the crowd.
Our talented musicians recently delighted family, friends and teachers with a range of seasonal concerts. Our Secondary School recital saw students, including the Jazz Band and High School Singers, perform various Christmas numbers to a full theatre, including ‘Silent Night’, ‘Here comes Santa Claus’ and a very jazzy ‘Jingle Bells’. Wearing festive costumes for an extravaganza of performances, a second concert of ‘Holiday Pops’ saw musicians from across the school don reindeer antlers, elf hats and tinsel!
These two fantastic events are always a highlight of our festive calendar. Our students performed brilliantly and we hope the audiences enjoyed the recitals, as well as our festive efforts!
Apex Brains Competition
Students of Alard Public School participated in an academic competition – Apex Brains – which was created on the lines of an Olympiad, in which students had to participate in a multi-round tournament where they faced questions and quizzes from different subjects and topics and they had to answer questions and solve problems in a stipulated amount of time. The students of Alard Public School showed exemplary performance in the competition and the winners were awarded certificates of merit.
SPARKS, a children’s medical research charity; and the Donald Sutherland Wildlife Foundation as their chosen charities. Following the students’ fundraising, representatives from each charity attended a specially planned assembly to talk about their charities and how the funds raised would help support their causes.
